FAQs Q. How does the Repair Servicework? A. Witha Repair Service order, you send your unit to us. We fix it and send that one back to you. Shipping both ways is included in the domestic shipping rates, so we will send you a prepaid UPS label to get the unit to us by email after receiving your payment details. Q.After I purchase the Repair Service, how long doesthe whole process take? A.Most units take 2-3 days in the workshop to be repaired. Some take a little longer. Shipping can take 1-6 days each way by UPS Ground depending on where you are shipping the unit from. Please contact us forfaster shipping options or select "Request Total Amount Due From Seller" to have the Overnight option added to your invoice. Q. How do you get the UPS label to me? A. After you pay for the item, we will request a shippinglabel from UPS and email it to you, so make sure youremail address is current. It usually only takes a couple of hours for us to do this, but we have to do this manually, so please allow up to one business day to receive your label (excluding weekends). Q. How do I package the unit? A. As the unit contains delicate electronics and can be damaged in shipping, you will need topack it well.We recommend that you use a large box (so that there are about3-4 inches of extra space on each side), wrap the unit in a layer of bubble wrap and fill in the extra spaces with packing peanuts.Dont forget to include your contact details in the box. Q. Is removal of just the module difficult? A. Not if you have good access to the ABS pump/module. These are normally very accessible in BMWs. All you have to do is remove the six torx bolts and the electrical connection. Q. Do I need to send the whole pump in? A. No. The module is the problem most of the time. It can be easily separated from the pump. And, if you leave the pump on the vehicle it is still drivable (see next question). If you send the pump in we will test it to make sure it is ok. Q. Can I drive the car while the module is being rebuilt? A. If you remove just the control module, you are not breaking into the hydraulic fluid system and you will still have regularpower brakes. So, the car can be driven, but it is not recommended.You must be aware that you will not have ABS, so the vehicle may brake differently. Take extra care when driving. Q. How do I package the unit? A. A piece of hard cardboard must be taped to the back of the unit to make sure it is not damaged. See the picture below.
