Windows 7 is faster than Windows Vista, it will be fast as the old Windows XP but with an impressive number of new features. Faster, reliable and easy to use, these are the words used by Microsoft to explain its new System.

What time will the Windows 7 download be available?

The Public Beta Download will be available in the afternoon of January 9, 2009 (PST – Pacific Standard Time). To check the current time right now where Microsoft is located, go here. Just check for the Seattle Time Zone.

I use Vista or XP, can I upgrade from there?

The Windows 7 Beta only supports Windows Vista SP1 to Windows 7 upgrades. So if you intend to do an upgrade – be sure it is on a PC running Windows Vista with Service Pack 1.

Where can I download Windows 7?

On January 9th (today), the Windows 7 Beta will be available for Windows enthusiasts to download via the Windows 7 page on Windows.com. The Windows 7 Beta is going to be available download-only and available for a limited time to the first 2.5 million people who download the beta.

Windows 7 beta will be available as an ISO image. While daa file is a disk image file format used by PowerISO, ISO image is a much more popular CD or DVD disk image file format. After downloading either the 32-bit or 64-bit ISO image of the Windows 7 Beta in your preferred language, burn the ISO image on to a DVD using ISO Recorder or the free ImgBurn. DVD flick is yet another free option to burn DVD from an ISO image.

How about the requirements for Windows 7?

Simply put, if your PC can run Windows Vista, Windows 7 will run in it and even better.
