The Samsung NC10 hasn’t been around that long and even arrived in the United States later than Europe and Asia, but we’re already learning news that a successor is on the way.

According to some rumors, Samsung, which is currently experiencing a strong success with its NETBOOK the NC10, could decide to push the nail in 2009 by announcing new models. This notebook comes with following features:

  • The 3.3-pound
  • With a 1.3GHz VIA Nano U225 processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • A 160GB hard drive
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • 802.11b/g WiFi
  • Ethernet
  • A 3-in-1 card reader
  • A 1.3-megapixel camera.

The price is thought to be around $642 and sounds pretty high for what is on offer, but given the NC10’s popularity, you could place a safe bet on this machine being something worthwhile. This price places it right in the category of ultraportable economic platform with Intel Atom, like the Dell Inspiron Mini 12, which will be the largest rival. For the moment we do not know if Samsung decides for next year of close collaboration with Intel to tighten with a VIA, but if it were the 2009 Samsung NETBOOK abandon the Intel Atom CPU to adopt the VIA Nano. Users more optimism hoping that the new proposals Samsung are varied and different, with both processors, to offer more choice to customers.

Samsung’s NC20 Netbook will be available come February.
